We have added extra walks on Sunday, 18 March and Monday, 19 March for those of you looking for an active weekend. Aside from exploring geology and history of the Burren, we will be identifying the early spring flowers like the primroses, cowslips and, if we’re lucky, false oxlips. So why not escape all the madness and enjoy nature on a walk with us!
We had a technical issue with our website, but this has now been resolved. We apologise for our website being down.
The issue involved our WordPressTwenty Seventeen Theme breaking, probable due to an update clash, but happily we have it fixed. We have carried out a full review and update of the website to try and ensure that it doesn’t happen again.
We have now uploaded our schedule of walks for 2018, featuring daily walks in May, June, July and August. We will also offer 3 walks a week in April and September (Tue, Thu & Sat). Full details and online booked is now available.
We are in the course of finalising our schedule of Burren Walks for 2018. We are excited to announce an expanded choice of walks, with daily walks offered in May, June, July & August. We will also be offering Guided Burren Walks on 3 days a week in April and September. Don’t forget that we can offer specially tailored walks for groups and clubs, and for anyone that would prefer a private walk.
We have added a Christmas walk on Wednesday, 27 December. This ideal for any of you who have over-indulged and want to burn off some of those calories, or just blow away the cobwebs! Or maybe you are just visiting our lovely area over the holiday period and would like to learn more about the unique Burren and its history, heritage and flora.
The walk will be guided by Paul Dunne and will give you a great insight into this beautiful area on the west coast of Ireland. For full details, please visit our Burren Walks page.
The summer is now a fading memory. For logistical reasons, we will not be continuing our regular scheduled walks for October. However, if you would like a Guided Burren heritage Walk please contact us. We will do our best to accommodate you.
At this point we would like to thank everyone who walked with us this summer. It was our first season, and how enjoyable it was!
We are now looking forward to the 2018 season and to expanding the range of walks on offer. We are also looking at trying to extend the languages offered – more of that later.
Be sure to check back with us in late December when we hope to have our 2018 schedule and details online again.
Paul Dunne and the walks team!
For operational reasons, we can only offer walks in September and October if we have bookings for that walk. Bookings can be made up to 21.00 (9.00pm) on the evening beforehand. You can still turn up if you want to take the chance, but if no one has booked, the walk won’t take place.
Remember, if even only one person has booked a walk, the walk will take place.
We look forward to meeting you on the Burren.
Paul is currently holding an exhibition of his work over the past 5 years in the Courthouse, Kinvara, running until Monday, 7th August. Opening times ar 11.00 – 18.00 each day.
Paul’s initial purchase of a camera came when he first took up hill walking and realised the beauty of the landscape through which he was walking. Hill walking continues to inspire Paul and much of his work with the camera.
See for yourself his work – all are welcome and entrance is FREE!
Delighted with the article ‘Take a Walk on the Wild Side’ in this week’s Connaught Tribune Newspaper – all about Kinvara Walks guided walks on the Burren. A big THANK YOU to the newspaper for giving us the publicity and highlighting our new programme of walks on offer.
