Christmas Burren Walk – 27 Dec

We have added a Christmas walk on Wednesday, 27 December. This ideal for any of you who have over-indulged and want to burn off some of those calories, or just blow away the cobwebs! Or maybe you are just visiting our lovely area over the holiday period and would like to learn more about the unique Burren and its history, heritage and flora.

The walk will be guided by Paul Dunne and will give you a great insight into this beautiful area on the west coast of Ireland. For full details, please visit our Burren Walks page.

Scheduled Walks

The summer is now a fading memory. For logistical reasons, we will not be continuing our regular scheduled walks for October. However, if you would like a Guided Burren heritage Walk please contact us. We will do our best to accommodate you.

At this point we would like to thank everyone who walked with us this summer. It was our first season, and how enjoyable it was!

We are now looking forward to the 2018 season and to expanding the range of walks on offer. We are also looking at trying to extend the languages offered – more of that later.

Be sure to check back with us in late December when we hope to have our 2018 schedule and details online again.

Paul Dunne and the walks team!

September & October Walks

For operational reasons, we can only offer walks in September and October if we have bookings for that walk. Bookings can be made up to 21.00 (9.00pm) on the evening beforehand. You can still turn up if you want to take the chance, but if no one has booked, the walk won’t take place.

Remember, if even only one person has booked a walk, the walk will take place.

We look forward to meeting you on the Burren.

Walk on 06 May

The walk for Saturday, 6th May has been withdrawn from our list of walks, as we are fully booked with a private party for that weekend.

Our First Guided Burren Walk

Only 4 week to go until we launch our new programme of walks, with 3 Burren Walks weekly until the end of October.

We can also organise private walks on the Burren for individuals or groups, and we intend to add extra and specialist walks during the year. Watch out for a special photographers walk, with instructions and tips from Paul on good landscape photography. Paul is a well know landscape photographer and also works freelance for the Leinster Express newspaper.

We will also organise walks on the Flaggy Shore – when the Burren meets the Atlantic Ocean, on the Wild Atlantic Way! Of particular note on these walks will be the fossils visible on the limestone flags.

Launch of Kinvara Walks

We have set up Kinvara Walks to help cater for the growing demand for walking tours, and more specifically for walking in the wonderful and unique landscape of the Burren. Based in the beautiful seaside village of Kinvara, we are ideally located for exploring the Burren.

Being located a 30 minute drive from Galway city, our walks are also very accessible for anyone staying in the city. Initially we are offering two levels of walk. On Tuesdays and Saturdays, we offer accessible 3 hours walks that will suit anybody with a reasonable level of fitness. On Thursdays, we are offering a 4-5 hour hike to cater for the more experienced hill walkers.

Should the demand be there, we hope to increase the number of walks on offer in the future. For this year, we will be offering extra walks at peak times, like holiday weekends – we will update our Walks Calendar on the Walks page with these additional walks.

We also aim to cater for those looking for specially tailored hike, whether it be for clubs, groups, friends or if you are simply looking for a private walk. We can plan an itinerary to suit your specific needs, day, time, distance, route, etc. Be sure to contact us for more details.
